“A sofa is like a marriage, make the right choice and live happily ever after.”
These are the words of Richard Faillace founder of Cameo.
Richard Faillace learned the trade of manufacturing sofas in Mamaroneck New York. When visiting his brother in Boucherville, he fell in love with Montreal and thought it would be a good place to start a business. In 1960 he packed up his family and moved to Montreal.
Richard realized that the sofas and sofa beds available at that time were of inferior quality, so he decided to manufacture his own. He set up shop on Ferrier Street, with a cutter and an upholster, and gradually built his business.
Many years later he passed his flourishing business to his daughters, Debbie and Christina, who learned the trade and continued to expand the business.
Memory foam mattresses, a second showroom in downtown Montreal, and new designs and styles keep Cameo at the forefront of sofa and sofa beds manufacturing in Canada.
A team of loyal employees, from knowledgeable tradesmen to sales representatives, are dedicated to helping customers in the relaxed atmosphere of their expansive showroom.
“Over the years, very little has really changed” says Debbie Faillace. “We still offer the same expert services and top quality sofas, at factory-direct prices. Made the old fashioned way.”
